About Sue Mullord

This is me ! I live in Christchurch, New Zealand.

I’ve always enjoyed photography, particularly documenting living things. I like people, birds, insects and fish. I like mammals too although we have very few native mammals in New Zealand.

I’m happiest when photographing anything with a heart.

In 2017 I went to Africa to see their animals before they disappeared from their natural environment. This led to an exhibition - Unplanned Obsolescence - in 2018 and 2020 with Sue James, a glass artist.

Back home, I began photographing New Zealand’s disappearing small animals starting in my own urban backyard.
